Republican U.S. Rep. Russell Fry will continue representing South Carolina’s 7th congressional district after voters reelected him for a third term. With all counties reporting, the incumbent congressman garnered roughly 56.71% of the votes with 172,308 ballots, based on preliminary results. “America’s future belongs to the people who show up with ideas,” Fry said in a statement. “The Democrat party has spent a lot of time telling America what’s wrong with it. They embraced socialism with open arms, an idea that has failed everywhere it’s been tried. Tonight, our district resoundingly rejected that.” Retired U.S. Navy Command Master Chief and small-business owner John Vincent, who represented the Democratic Party in South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District race, received an estimated 43.22% of votes, according to preliminary results.
