EDISON – An apartment complex off Plainfield Avenue is looking to build a day care center on the property.

Applicant Blueberry Village Inc. has applied to the township Planning Board to construct a day care center on the property at the intersection of Plainfield Avenue and Metroplex Drive. The application is scheduled to be heard at the board's May 13 meeting, according to public documents.

Plans call for the construction of a 10,500-square-foot building to house the day care center, an adjacent play area and related site infrastructure including 45 parking spaces.

The applicant will be seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval, and a variance for minimum lot width, if needed, the public documents say.

Located near the southern part of the township, Blueberry Village offers one-, two- and three-bedroom duplex and townhouse apartments in walking distance to the Edison train station and NJ Transit bus service, according to the complex’s website.
