Buchanan County Sheriff investigating after man injured in shooting
BUCHANAN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office is working with Iowa DCI to investigate after a man was injured in a shooting this morning. Buchanan County Health Center Emergency Room staff reported they had an adult male in their ER with a gunshot wound to the abdomen around 9am, and contacted officials. Buchanan County Health Center went into a precautionary lockdown because not all parties involved were accounted for at the time. The victim was later taken to UIHC, and his exact condition is unknown.
Eastern Iowa man arrested after driving recklessly, barricades himself in home
Fayette County — In eastern Iowa, a man is behind bars -- and is now facing several charges -- after barricading himself in his home last week. Oelwein resident, Joshua Michael, 24, was arrested on Friday evening, April 19th, and was charged with four counts of Assault while Displaying a deadly weapon.

The Backbone Bluegrass Festival has been around since 1981 and brings a mix of bluegrass, country and gospel acts to the northeast corner of Iowa. Held in Strawberry Point on the last weekend of July, this summer’s fest is Friday to Sunday, July 26-28.
