In the quiet corridors of Manchester's legal institutions, the case of Robert Krogman has become a stark reminder of the complexities of criminal justice. Krogman's conviction for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend in 2009 has been a point of contention, leading to a series of appeals that highlight the challenging nature of applying legal precedents to ensure a fair trial. Initially convicted, Krogman was later granted a retrial due to issues with his frozen assets. Despite this, he faced conviction again, only to have the Court of Appeals offer a glimmer of hope for a third trial because of an excluded video interview that was key to his defense. The Iowa Supreme Court, however, ruled that the video's exclusion was unlikely to have affected the trial's outcome, effectively shutting down the possibility of another retrial.
