Last area teams lose soccer playoff games
The area girls soccer season came to an end Thursday when the last two local public school teams still in the state playoffs — Currituck and Perquimans — lost their matches. The No. 13-ranked Currituck County High School Knights were shut out 3-0 by the No. 4-ranked Fike Deacons in the 3A NCHSAA women’s soccer championship tournament. Edenton, NC police chief to retire soon
EDENTON, N.C. — The Town of Edenton has announced the retirement of Police Chief Henry King. Chief King led the Edenton Police Department for the past six years. According to a press release from the office of the town manager, King joined the Edenton Police Department in 2018, after serving 18 years with the Rocky Mount Police Department, as well as serving in the United States Marine Corps.
