    Bruce Lane White, 76, of 317 Yellow Hammer Road, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, in his home. Mr. White was born in Perquimans County on February 2, 1948, and was the son of the late Wayland L. White, Jr. and Geraldine Lane White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clay White. Retired from the Roll Finishing Department of International Paper (formerly Union Camp Corp.) after 30 years of employment, many will remember the friendships established through his longtime enjoyment of Quail hunting. He was raised in the faith of Chappell Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are his children, Sharon Denise White of Edenton and David Bruce White of Hobbsville; three sisters, Emily Copeland (Lester Ray) of Tyner, Elaine Garrett (Lloyd) of Hertford, and Annette Parks (Glenn) of Edenton; a brother, Clark White (Joyce) of Belvidere; five grandchildren, Ashley Tomascak, Jacob Byrum, Amanda Byrum, Courtney Byrum, and Alex White; and six great-grandchildren with another due to be born in October. Also surviving is his best friend and longtime companion of 26 years, Lisa Brown, her children, Jeremy Brown, Stephanie Luby, and Kent Reed (deceased), and their families. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20th, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, in Edenton. A private burial will follow in Up River Cemetery in the Whiteston community of Perquimans County Flowers are welcomed, or contributions in his memory may be made to the Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Road, Tyner, NC 27980.
