Colchester-Milton Rotary: The flags are coming
This Memorial Day weekend, the Colchester Milton Rotary will once again display their Flags for Heroes. We are entering our 4th year with this project designed as a celebration of local heroes and a fundraiser to support our community. This year we have 100 new flags thanks to a generous donation from our own local hero and Honorary Rotarian, Dick Mazza.

Things to do across Vermont and Northern New York Today
SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — If you're looking for things to do across our region today, there are many events in Vermont and Northern New York. First up, happening this evening in Waterbury Center is the Art Jam: Open Mic event. It's from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Grange Hall Cultural Center. You can sing two songs or share up to 10 minutes of written work. All instruments, ages, abilities, and styles are welcome. Anyone can join as a member of the audience, and admission is free.
Utility district marks strongest annual meeting vote since formation
Credit the recent school budget revote for the bump, but the Edward Farrar Utility District recently logged its strongest election turnout since it was formed in 2017. There was only one candidate per office on the ballot, so no contests to stir up public interest. But 144 voters cast ballots to make it the best-attended election to date. Early ballots were available as local residents voted on the Harwood Unified Union School District budget on and before April 30. Ballots for the water and wastewater district were also available at that time.

Road Work | May 20-24
Road Work is compiled from reports from the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTRANS), Waterbury Public Works, and other local highway departments. Work is under way now on Guptil Road on Bridge 4 (actually the third bridge from Rt. 100 heading to Waterbury Center) just south of the Kneeland Flats Road intersection. The town road crew asks motorists to please slow down traveling through the narrow work zone. The road will remain open during the rehab project which is expected to take until mid-July to be completed.

Stowe Country Club, ranked by Golfweek’s Best as the No. 1 public-access course in Vermont, is slated to undergo a two-year renovation by golf architect Beau Welling. Newport to host first Forage Festival this Saturday
NEWPORT — Newport City Downtown Development will host the inaugural Forage Festival on May 18, a day packed with activities, local events, and community fun.
