    Westfield man sentenced for secretly recording women’s locker room in Easthampton

    EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A former Easthampton firefighter pleaded guilty and was sentenced to jail for secretly recording people.

    According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, 39-year-old Nicholas Tillman of Westfield was arrested in July 2022 after two cameras were found in the women’s locker room at the Public Safety Complex in Easthampton.

    The cameras were found by a woman firefighter who saw a blue light in a locker. When she opened the locker, a camera was found taped to the locker attached to a power supply. She then proceeded to check all the lockers and found the second camera.

    The firefighter reported the incident to Easthampton Fire Deputy Chief Benson. Captain Kelly and Detective Rogalski collected the evidence and opened an investigation. Several videos and images were found of the women’s locker room on the microSD cards. Futher forensic digital evidence retrieval and analysis was performed by the Digital Evidence Laboratory of the Office of the Attorney General at the request of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.

    Tillman was identified as the suspect after he was caught on camera attempting to retrieve the cameras. The court documents state Tillman confessed to Deputy Chief Benson to placing the cameras in the women’s locker room.

    On April 24th, Tillman pleaded guilty to three counts of videotaping intimate parts of a person without consent, three counts of videotaping an unsuspecting nude person, and a single count of attempted illegal wiretap.

    He was sentenced to serve eight months in the Hampshire House of Correction followed by two years of probation. During that time he is ordered to stay away from the Easthampton Fire Department, have no contact with the two female victims in the case, complete sex offender treatment, and barred from working as a first responder during his probationary period.

    He must also immediately surrender any photos or videos unlawfully obtained to the Easthampton Police Department.
