Easthampton Police issue traffic alert ahead of Fort Hill Brewery Half Marathon

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Easthampton’s Fort Hill Brewer y Half Marathon is on Sunday and police are warning residents of some road traffic due to the race.

According to the Easthampton Police Department, the race begins at 10:30 a.m. and will continue for a few hours. The race will start on the road in the areas of the bike path crossings on Ferry Street, Union Street, Payson Avenue, and South Street, later returning into Easthampton via Line Street, Pomeroy Street, Hendrick Street, Williston Avenue, and Payson/Union/Ferry Streets.

Detail officers will be around the course to assist with traffic and to make sure that everyone is safe. If you are planning to drive through this area on Sunday, police are advising to use another route when traveling. If you are going to the Fort Hill Brewery, do not go using Clapp Street as you won’t be able to get to the brewery because of the flooded roads.

The half marathon will raise money for Easthampton High School’s track and field and cross-country programs. Funds from the race will pay for track maintenance work, equipment, and anything else the program might need.
