EAST BRUNSWICK/SOUTH RIVER, NJ - On Thursday, May 2, a home on 8 Continental Court, South River a two and a half story house exploded and was leveled, seemingly collapsing in on itself. In the home at the time were Kevin Gilbert and his brother-in-law Curtis. Curtis was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment. The other victim, Gilbert, 62, was discovered with fatal injuries. Eileen, of South River, was killed on Wednesday, May 1, at the site of the Superior Signal Explosion in Old Bridge, as previously reported by Daily Voice. Born in New Brunswick, Eileen lived in Old Bridge, East Brunswick, and Spotswood before moving to South River 24 years ago, according to her obituary on the Crabiel Home For Funerals website. Eileen was a member of the APA Pool League for 27 years and also enjoyed going to the Parx Casino in PA, her obituary continues.

A 29-year-old Plainfield man was charged with burglary and theft May 2 for allegedly breaking into a car in the Walmart parking lot and stealing a purse. The incident occurred April 8, and was assigned to a detective who identified the suspect. The man was charged on a complaint summons.
