Letter: Lubbock reader says voting cartoon doesn't reflect reality
The editorial cartoon depicted on page 3B of your 11/1/26 edition showed two large intimidating men, DOJ and ICE, standing in front of a voting box. I recently voted at the Market Street grocery store on 98th. I did not see anyone trying discourage me from voting. Also, the ballot boxes were not wrapped in barbed wire. The voting staff were friendly, professional and did not offer any opinions as to how to vote. It was a simple process. The editorial cartoon is an attempt to intimidate and discourage citizens from voting and is a gross misrepresentation of the real world, at least in Lubbock, Texas. - Jim Koontz, Lubbock.
