Last night's winds and heavy rain caused power outages for thousands of people throughout Northeast and Central Pa. In Dunmore, part of the roof atop a building at 200 E. Drinker St. near Dunmore Corners blew off around 4:30 p.m. No one was injured. Over 9 thousands people are without power in Lackawanna County, and many roads were also impacted by flooding, downed trees or utility lines. According to an online outage map, over 600 customers in the South Abington area were without power. The estimated time to repair these outages varies depending on how quickly crews can make it to the source of each outage. As a result of heavy rains this week, the Susquehanna River in Wilkes-Barre is expected to crest at 18.9 feet early Friday morning. Minor flooding begins at 22 feet.
