Mid-Penn track and field: How Franklin County athletes fared at the championship meet
Chambersburg's boys' track and field team earned second place at Saturday's Mid-Penn Conference track and field championships. The Trojans were paced by Aiden Alleman, who ran to a first-place finish in the 3,200 meters, and Peter Mertz, who earned silver in the shot put and discus. Jermere Jones added a silver in the 110 hurdles, and Antonio Harrison II and Owen Shrader both won bronze in the 200 and 800, respectively. Jon Dawe and Kaden Rife earned top-eight finishes for points, as did the 400 and 3,200 relay teams.

CHAMBERSBURG – The first leg of the high school track and field postseason is in the books with the conclusion of the 2024 Mid-Penn Conference championships. There were plenty of top returners once again walking away with some conference hardware, as well as a bevy of newcomers who stole the show. The top eight finishers per event secured medals at Chambersburg’s Trojan Stadium.
