Hwy. 77 rehab project to begin May 13
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will rehabilitate five miles of State Hwy. 77 from the junction with Hwy. 63 in Hayward to County Road K in the town of Hayward beginning Monday, May 13. The project will consist of removing a portion of the existing pavement and placing new asphalt pavement cleaning, lining or repairing culverts; and placing new pavement markings. During construction, Highway 77 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter daytime single-lane closes, controlled by flagging. The project is scheduled for completion in early July.
Eagle Scout creates 'lure libraries' in Hayward area
Three “Lure Libraries” have been created in the Hayward area, thanks to an idea hatched by Illinois Boy Scout Ethan Constantine as part of his Eagle Scout project. The Hayward Hurricanes softball team picked up two more wins last week, 12-7 over Cumberland and 14-6 over Barron, to improve their record to 12-0 in conference play and 14-4 overall.
