Noti man jailed after allegedly attacking man with metal post
NOTI, Ore. – A man is in the Lane County Jail after allegedly beating a man unconscious with a metal post, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office. According to the LCSO, on April 22 a man called them to report that a man had beaten him unconscious with a metal T-post the night before, leaving him with severe injuries. Deputies said they spoke with the victim, then visited the alleged site of the assault on Poodle Creek Road and found evidence confirming the victim’s account. Deputies also said they found the suspect in the assault, identified as Timothy Leon Shafer, 54, trespassing on the property along with Ana Maria Teresa Glica, 47, and another man.
Ducks defensive back, Daylen Austin arrested for felony hit-and-run
EUGENE, Ore. – A defensive back with the University of Oregon is facing felony hit-and-run charges. According to the Eugene Police Department, 19-year-old Daylen Amir Austin was arrested just before midnight on Monday. The arrest came after a fatal hit-and-run happened earlier that night at the intersection of West 4th Avenue and Polk Street.
Seaside boys golf tested at state preview
The Seaside High School boys golf team took a break from Cowapa League play to test themselves at the 4A State Preview Tournament in Creswell on Thursday. Despite having two players shooting in the 90s and the Seaside Seagulls finishing with their highest score of the year, the team still finished second on the day with score of 347.
