Williamson Youth Arts Festival celebrating local talent
The Williamson Youth Arts Festival "Arts Mothership" is set to grace the Williamson Field House from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 11. Hosted by the HeArt of West Virginia and backed by the Tamarack Foundation of the Arts Ripple Project, the Williamson Youth Arts Festival promises a day filled with creativity, talent and community spirit, according to Jim Pajarillo, founder of the HeArt of West Virginia.

NEWTOWN – The Mingo Central High School football team closed out a successful spring with last week's inaugural Blue-White scrimmage at Buck Harless Stadium,. “The scrimmage went better than what we all thought it would go,” Mingo Central Coach David Jones said. “It was a first-time doing something like that. We didn’t have all of our players. Some are playing other sports but it went really well. As coaches, we were very pleased. Of course we’re having a quarterback battle right now and both did fairly OK. They have a lot to work on and that’s the main position that we are focusing on.”

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Kentucky State Police Post 9 is preparing for its summer car show, raising money for the Shop With a Trooper program. “None of that would be possible if it wasn’t for the fundraising and donations from our community,” said Post 9 Public Affairs Officer Michael Coleman. “You know, it costs anywhere between $12,000 to $14,000 each year to put [Shop With a Trooper] on.
