Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said a murder suspect being sought after a woman and child were found at a "gruesome" scene has been captured.

Angel Gabriel Cuz-Choc, 31, was captured after less than a day on the run. He was wanted after a woman and child were found dead at a "gruesome" scene in a home Wednesday evening.

Deputies were called to a mobile home on the 3700 block of Sumner Road in Dover around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. They were called after a 911 call was received from a roommate who arrived home and found the victims.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister described the scene as "gruesome."

"An adult female laying in the backyard of the house in her own puddle of blood, a bloody handprint that we believe was hers as she was fighting for her life, trying to escape the violence that was occurring inside this mobile home," Sheriff Chronister said.

Deputies identified the suspect as Cuz-Choc. A search warrant was issued for Cuz-Choc Thursday morning on two counts of murder in the first degree with a weapon.

Chronister said the suspect and the woman were romantically involved.

"These two innocent victims were beaten to death by blunt force trauma," the sheriff said. "He has killed someone he was romantically involved with."

Chronister said a neighbor heard a female scream around 4:30 p.m. but did not report it to authorities.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to call 911 or 813-247-8200.
