OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — Police in Ogle County arrested Andrew Gonzales, 22, of Dixon, after he allegedly fled police in a high-speed chase while high on drugs and alcohol.

According to police, a deputy attempted to stop a blue Genesis in the 500 block of W. Flagg Road around 4:21 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Police said Gonzales, who was driving, refused to stop and eventually reached speeds of 90 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.

Gonzales lost control of his car in the pursuit and crashed near the intersection of Rock Nation and Lost Nation roads.

He was uninjured in the crash, police said.

Authorities charged him with Aggravated Fleeing to Elude and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Drugs, and cited on numerous traffic violations, including Use of an Electronic Communications Device.

He was booked into the Ogle County Jail and then released with a notice to appear at a future court date.
