Social-media stars, Marvel's Wolverine soak in Michigan-MSU experience
ANN ARBOR — Good records or bad, Michigan-Michigan State still is the social event of the college football season, at least around here. And the social-media influencers and stars were here for it at Michigan Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 7. Popular Brits Joshua Cauldwell-Clarke and Jason Riley (Josh & Jase) were in attendance for Saturday night's game, as was Tom Hur (Korea Pistons Fan). Actor Hugh Jackman, Marvel's Wolverine, also was making the rounds, speaking to the football team Friday, Nov. 6, before serving as Michigan's honorary captain for the game . Detroit News photographer Katy Kildee spotted Jackman arriving at the stadium Saturday, when he was greeted by a throng of fans, including Michigan women's head basketball coach Kim Barnes Arico (fresh off her team's historic 77-66 win over No. 2-ranked UConn two days earlier ). But there still was plenty of buzz inside and outside the stadium well before kickoff. Josh & Jase spent the earlier part of their week in the States at Michigan

No. 3 MSU hockey falls to Boston University despite late comeback push
No. 3 Michigan State hockey entered the third period trailing by four goals, and despite a late offensive surge, it could not overcome the deficit in a 6-2 loss to No. 13 Boston University on Friday night. The Spartans (5-2) scored twice in the opening six minutes of the third period to cut the Terriers' lead in half. However, a costly too many men on the ice penalty with less than four minutes remaining halted MSU's momentum and allowed BU (7-2) to put the game away. BU's Charlie Tretheway scored on the ensuing power play before Carter Amico added an empty-net goal to secure the 6-2 victory. The loss marked the first time MSU surrendered four goals in a game this season and the first time freshman goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen allowed more than two. He was pulled midway through the second period after allowing four goals on 20 shots. Junior transfer Quentin Sigurdson replaced him for the remainder of the game. The Spartans struggled to find an answer for Terrier's junior goaltender Mikhail Yegorov, who turned aside multiple high-danger opportunities throughout the first two periods. MSU outshot BU 35-24 but could not consistently capitalize on its chances. "I thought we
