Eldridge couple accused of stealing from older relative
An Eldridge couple was in custody Friday after police allege they stole thousands from an older relative, court documents say. Miles Crafton, 34, faces felony charges of financial exploitation of an older individual – first offense, ongoing criminal conduct – unlawful activity, first-degree theft and money laundering – acquire property, and serious misdemeanor charges of possession of controlled substance – marijuana – second offense and unlawful possession of a prescription drug, court records show.

The Village of Cordova is working on fixing a water leak on Second Street South which is south of 13th Street, city officials said. On 05/05/2024 at 2052 hours, Clinton County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 330th Ave, and Hwy 30 east of Dewitt, Iowa. Clinton intersection closes for reconstruction project
There’s a traffic alert for part of Clinton. Because of storm sewer installation as a part of the Clinton’s 13th St. reconstruction project, the intersection of N. 13th St. and 4th Ave. N. will be closed temporarily. The work is scheduled to take ten days. During the work, the road will be reduced to one lane with periods of intermitted closures.
Fitness coach takes on burpee challenge for the Humane Society of Scott County
Fitness coach Shelby Marsh will raise money Saturday through some extreme exercise, all to support a local animal organization. Marsh is a fitness coach at 1031 Fitness in Bettendorf. She’s doing 1,000 burpees to try and raise awareness for the Humane Society of Scott County to hopefully bring more volunteers and donors to the organization.
