Sulphur Animal Hospital offering free flea medication study
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Recent studies find that one in seven dogs has fleas. Louisiana is in a higher risk area for the parasite and flea medication is often expensive. Veterinarian Lori Willis at Maplewood Animal Hospital says warm weather months bring more fleas that can give your furry friends a variety of health issues, from dermatitis, and parasite infections to allergies. The hospital is taking part in a trial with the company Argenta using medication that has proven effective in previous studies. Local dogs would receive flea treatment.
