    1. Royal Oak Tequila Fest

    Raise a glass this weekend to Royal Oak Tequila Fest! Sample some of the finest brands and varieties of premium and ultra-premium tequilas, as well as tequila liqueurs, crèmes, infusions, mezcals and flavored tequilas. The Mexican spirits can be sampled straight, or in hand-crafted margaritas and cocktails. Tantalizing tacos and other Mexican favorites from some of Metro Detroit’s best taco trucks will also be available for purchase.

    Saturday, May 4 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Royal Oak Farmers Market

    2. Belle Isle Koi Festival

    The annual Koi Festival returns to Belle Isle this weekend! This family-friendly event brings the community together to celebrate the Japanese heritage of the Aquarium’s famed Koi collection. The Koi Festival offers fun for all ages with traditional games, martial arts demonstrations, music, and crafts inspired by Japanese traditions along with a selection of Japanese-inspired cuisine.

    Sunday, May 5 at 12 p.m. at Belle Isle Aquarium in Detroit

    3. Cinco de Mayo Parade & Fiesta in Southwest Detroit

    Celebrate Cinco de Mayo this weekend in Southwest Detroit! The annual event returns for its 59th year with the theme "La Historia de Southwest Detroit” — embracing all the beautiful cultures from the many Latin American countries that create the rich fabric of this community. Starting Saturday, the festival will feature local vendors, food trucks, musicians, mariachis, family activities and more. Then, on Sunday, the Cinco de Mayo parade steps off from Woodmere Street and will travel east along Vernor Hwy, ending at W. Grand Blvd.

    Saturday, May 4 - Sunday, May 5 in Southwest Detroit

    4. Eastern Market Derby Day

    The Eastern Market Social Guild welcomes you to join in for the “Most Exciting Two Minutes of Sports” with an all-day event at Eastern Market Derby Day! At 6:24 p.m. on May 4, participating locations in Eastern Market will be streaming the Kentucky Derby. However, all are welcome to dress in your derby-best starting at 2 p.m. to promenade these locations and sip on some Derby-themed drinks! Have a mint-julep — or two — while you enjoy Eastern Market becoming Louisville for the day.

    5. Michigan Antique Festival

    The annual Michigan Antique Festival is back and ready to enchant visitors with an unparalleled selection of vintage finds and one-of-a-kind treasures. Held at the picturesque Springfield Oaks County Park in Davisburg, this two-day event promises to be a haven for antique enthusiasts, collectors, and gift seekers alike. From heirloom furniture to delicate porcelain, vintage clothing to unique jewelry, every corner of the festival is brimming with timeless pieces that tell stories of bygone eras.
