    Driver failed to yield right of way, struck motorcyclist head on

    The plaintiff, a 70-year-old recently retired OB-GYN, was out for a leisurely afternoon ride on her motorcycle. A young driver pulled out from a stop at a T intersection, failing to yield the right of way, and struck the plaintiff’s motorcycle head on. The plaintiff was catapulted onto the roadway surface, crushing her left hip and pelvis. She required multiple surgeries, including a supra-acetabular external fixator requiring three months of bedrest in a rehab facility requiring 24/7 care.
