Mayor of Rossford says Paul Dobson has demonstrated concern for truth, compassion for victims
I write to provide my strong endorsement for Paul Dobson’s candidacy for Wood County Court of Common Pleas judge. I know Paul well and know that he will bring valuable experience, knowledge, and the right judicial temperament to the bench. His 18 years as the Wood County prosecutor particularly qualifies and has prepared him for this position.

Democratic candidates court carpenters union members
PERRYSBURG — Since his first successful U.S. Senate bid in 2006, organized labor has been an essential part of Democrat Sherrod Brown‘s coalition. 20 years later, and following his 2024 loss to Republican Bernie Moreno, Brown is not overlooking the importance of union support in his campaign for a comeback.

Road Warrior: Traffic changes planned at Rossford roundabout site
A traffic-pattern shift is planned for Tuesday at the Glenwood/Buck roundabout project in Rossford. Glenwood Road will be entirely closed on the north side of Buck Road during this phase, which will allow Glenwood to be shifted to its tie-in with the new, circular intersection. The city of Rossford expects westbound Buck to reopen approaching Glenwood, where it has been closed for reconstruction. As of Saturday, a stretch of pavement in that part of Buck remained to be built, so that will have to happen before the westbound lane can reopen. The city said the work on Glenwood’s northerly leg is expected to take about 10 days but is weather dependent. Once this switch occurs, northbound traffic on Glenwood approaching Buck will no longer have a forced right turn onto eastbound Buck. That will be welcome relief for motorists not anticipating that turn, because the detour it begins is quite long. Some drivers appear to have been cutting through the parking lot at the Wendy’s on the intersection’s southwest corner, so that should come to an end too. **** Utility work will close eastbound South Avenue between Cordova Street and Maumee Avenue on Monday only, the Toledo Department of Transportation

Perrysburg highlights drainage history ahead of new stormwater fee
Water has shaped Perrysburg’s history since the city’s earliest days. “Right below Fort Meigs, back from around 1814 until 1832, there was a little settlement there. ... It was called Orleans of the North,” said Gary Franks, a local historian. “After the town got wiped out by the spring floods, they finally said ‘Gee, we ought to move to higher ground.’ That, of course, was to the east in Perrysburg, and the highest point in Perrysburg is probably right around Hood Park, there at Louisiana and Front streets.” The city is highlighting that history as part of an effort to educate residents about water management ahead of a new $6 monthly residential fee taking effect in January. The fee is part of a new stormwater utility program that will provide dedicated funding to maintain and improve the city’s drainage systems. Beginning in 2028, the monthly fee is scheduled to increase by 50 cents annually, up to a maximum of $8. The rate will be reassessed after five years. The fee structure was announced after community input at the March meeting of the Perrysburg public utilities committee. City council approved it in May. Nonresidential properties will be assessed at different rates,

Former Perrysburg city council president endorses Ryan Lee
Having previously served eight years on Perrysburg city council, including four years as council president, I know and understand the responsibility that comes with every vote. Residents deserve representatives who understand the legislation before them, ask questions, and commit to and explain their decisions. The recent news reporting about Rossford...
