Mike Greenberg Rips Denver Nuggets Coach for Calling Reporter’s Question ‘Stupid’ After Game 7 Loss: ‘Show Some Class’

Mike Greenberg called out the Denver Nuggets for the way the team handled losing throughout its playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Nuggets lost to the Timberwolves in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals despite leading by 20 points in the third quarter. It was the largest Game 7 comeback in 25 years.

Naturally, Nuggets coach Michael Malone wasn’t in the best mood and it reflected in his post-game press conference. When asked how much worse the loss felt knowing the team was in complete control at one point, Malone said the lead was insignificant context and all that mattered was the fact that they lost. He then uttered, “Stupid ass questions,” under his breath.

“It isn’t a stupid ass question at all, quite frankly,” Greenberg said on Monday’s episode of #Greeny. “It is a perfectly reasonable question, and there are a lot of ways you can handle it in that moment — and that wasn’t the classy one. So again, everyone loves Michael Malone. He seems very likable. I’m certainly not going to judge a person by one bad moment; but I thought that was one bad [moment]. You know what? You win with class, you lose with class.

He’s the one who likes to say when his teams win, they can ‘take that L with them,’ and all that kinda stuff. Where are you when you lose? That was a perfectly reasonable question you were asked, and you can answer it any way you want. You can show some class when you lose.”
