TNT’s Reggie Miller was not remotely bashful about calling out the officials after a missed call in Saturday night’s Game 1 of the second-round series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets.

In the second quarter, Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards had the ball and was working on Denver’s Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the post. Caldwell-Pope committed what looked to be a blatant foul on Edwards. But it went uncalled. The missed foul created a loose ball, which Denver controlled and eventually turned into an alley-oop from Nikola Jokić to Christian Braun.

Even without the benefit of replay, fellow analyst Jamal Crawford saw the foul and quickly called it out . “That was a foul. No doubt about it,” Crawford said, as the Nuggets were bringing the ball upcourt. A frustrated Miller agreed.

“How could three officials miss that?” Miller asked. “Did he think they got all ball? Because it looked like he came across his arm.” Then came the replay, which confirmed what Crawford and Miller said. It was a foul and Caldwell-Pope essentially chopped Edwards’ arms to knock the ball free.

And with that, Miller really got going.

“How can you not see or call that?! I mean, this is so blatant! See, this is what’s frustrating. We’re supposed to be at the highest level, in the (NBA) Playoffs, Second Round, you can’t miss calls like that! I’m sorry! You can’t miss calls!”
