High school softball: UIL playoff and championship schedule, locations
The high school softball postseason is is here, so there are some important times and locations to remember as the season winds down. The University Interscholastic League postseason begins with the district certification deadline on Apr. 23 and then bi-district matchups later that week followed by the area round the first week of May. From there, teams compete in the regional quarterfinal and then the regional semifinal the following weeks. The regional final starts in the second to last week of May, then finally the state tournament from May 28-Jun 1.
Flemings, boys relay team headed to State Track Meet
A few Yoemen are headed to the State Track Meet next week. Yierra Flemings is the lonae state qualifier for the girls team. She finished first place in the long jump, 400-meter dash, and the 100-meter hurdles at the Regional Track Meet at Waco Midway last week. She finished fourth in the team standings with 40 points.

On a 2-1 pitch, Anthony Mackenzie swung on a ball near the outside corner of the plate and sent it deep over the wall in right field.
