Suspects indicted in Dayton stolen truck police chase

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A man and woman have been charged in relation to a police chase involving a stolen truck.

On April 24, task force officers identified a man driving a stolen truck and attempted a traffic stop. A woman got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

The male driver then rammed a Dayton police cruiser and took off, prompting a high-speed police chase. He was later found in Indiana. Both individuals were arrested .

An officer was struck by the suspect as he fled the traffic stop. He suffered minor injuries and has since recovered.

Daniel Payton, the male driver, was indicted on one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, one count of receiving stolen property and one count of obstructing official business.

Diamond Grody, the woman who fled, was charged with one count of obstructing official business.

Payton is expected in court on May 7, and Grody will appear on May 16.
