Blackwell Guest Speaker at Rotary
Kezia Blackwell, a member of the Crawfordsville chapter of Tri Kappa, spoke to the Crawfordsville Rotary Club at their noon meeting. Tri Kappa is an Indiana sorority for women that was started in 1901 .The Crawfordsville chapter was started in 1937. There are 142 active chapters and 94 associate chapters in the state.. Tri Kappa has charity, culture and education as their goal for the community. The local chapter has been a continuous donor to Riley Hospital and their major fundraiser in the community is the Daddy-Daughter Dance.
Saidian, Utterback, and Miller qualify for Regional
After the girls track and field sectional took place on Tuesday, it was time for the boys to get their post-season underway. Crawfordsville and North Montgomery competed at West Lafayette while Southmont made the trip to Plainfield. Southmont competed against some of the best teams in the state in the likes of Zionsville, Avon, and Brownsburg. The Mounties, while they weren’t able to advance anyone out, did have some good showings. Vince Reimondo ran a PR in the 800 with a time of 1:56.18 and placed fifth, their 4x400 team of Nolan Boyer, Kyler McCandless, Tyler Petroski and Reimondo placed seventh with a 3:38.29, and the Mountie 4x800 team of Mason Cass, Sam Crum, Hunter Gray, and Reimondo placed fifth with a time of 8:41.89. Both Marlin Williams and Petroski cleared 13 feet in the pole vault to as Williams placed fourth and Petroski fifth.

Hoover Students Compete at Math Bowl
Hoover Elementary competed in the state Math Bowl Competition last month at Thorntown Elementary School. There was a lot of good competition this year. Hoover Team 1, which was made up of all fifth graders, took first place in the Orange Division. Hoover Team 2, which was made up of all fourth graders, came in third place in the Orange Division.

Chargers end SAC play with sweep of Mounties
LINDEN — North Montgomery and Southmont baseball concluded their Sagamore Conference slate on Friday with the Mounties making the trip to Charger Field. With a 10-0 win in five innings the Chargers ended conference play with a 9-5 record which tied them with Western Boone for second place. It moved North to 16--7 on the season. Southmont ended the conference season at 0-14 and are now 1-18 on the season.
