Sophomore QB Trent Seaborn shines for Thompson in spring game against Daphne
Trent Seaborn has started 17 games at quarterback for the Thompson Warriors and, as of last month, he has celebrated 16 birthdays. In Thursday night’s spring game against Daphne at the University of South Alabama’s Hancock Whitney Stadium, he looked every bit like a veteran performer and not at all like a sophomore-to-be.
Old Shell Road Property Sold
Pratt Thomas of Merrill P. Thomas Co., Inc. represented the buyers in the purchase of 2657 Old Shell Road for $155,000. The property, located in Midtown Mobile, is on the corner of Old Shell Road and Mobile Street and is located across the street from UMS-Wright Preparatory School. Originally built as a Phillips 66 gas station in 1950-1951, the building was most recently occupied by Rainwater Radiator (1996 to present). The property will undergo extensive renovations and will be converted to an office building to be occupied by Sam Winter & Co. Real Estate. Sam Winter said, “This new location gives us the space we need to expand our company and to continue to provide a high level of customer service to our buyers and sellers.”

Baldwin County woman charged in murder-for-hire plot appears in federal court
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — Three sisters face federal charges in a murder-for-hire plot. Sandra Grimes, 57 of Niceville, FL., Mitzy Smith, 54 of Fairhope and Judy Owen, 61 of Silverhill, were arrested Friday. Smith made her initial appearance in federal court Tuesday. According to complaint, the target was Grimes's son-in-law who she accused of physically assaulting her daughter and grandchildren and drugging her daughter and forcing her to have sex with others.
