    Danville Utilities: Power restored in multiple areas of Pittsylvania County

    DANVILLE, Va. ( WFXR )– Danville Utilities reports the substation is back in service.

    DANVILLE, Va. ( WFXR )– Danville Utilities says they are working to restore power throughout areas in Pittsylvania County.

    According to their Facebook page , the power outage is currently affecting customers in the Whitmell, Callands, and Dry Folks areas.

    Roanoke County PD start ‘Take it with you’ campaign following rise in car break-ins

    Crews report the power outage is due to damage to a substation component, putting it out of service.

    The City of Danville says they do not know what caused the damage.

    Danville Utilities is currently on the scene replacing the component, but says it will be several hours before the substation is back online.
