On Mondays, we chop it up with the folks responsible for dishing up food around the area. What restaurant should we try next? Let Joey Wright know at jwright@news-gazette.com.

A change in ownership hasn’t deterred the staff at Danville’s Little Nugget Steakhouse from serving up fan-favorite menu items.

Popular mainstays like steaks and burgers and more unique options like chicken shawarma and prime rib are what patrons have come to expect from the popular Vermilion County restaurant.

“They can expect a great meal,” manager Avion Cash said.

“When they come in, they leave full. That’s a guarantee, and we do serve delicious steaks cooked to perfection ... we always cater to the customer, too.”

Little Nugget puts more control into the hands of its customers than most steakhouses.

“We have two propane grills in the front of the restaurant, and in the back of the restaurant, too,” Cash said.

“Folks could, if they want to, grill their own steaks, and we have our own cook to grill their steaks if they want that choice.”

Steaks aren’t the only item on Little Nugget’s menu that draw a crowd, nor are taco Tuesdays the only time customers can order with flair.

“We’re doing new stuff,” Cash said. “We’re starting to do (baby back) ribs on Thursdays, half-slabs, quarter-slabs and full slabs.

On Mother’s Day, we’re doing beef Wellington ... we did Wagyu a couple of months ago, actually.”
