DALLAS (KDAF) — There are many foods out there that are difficult to pronounce. As random of a topic as it may seem, it happens to many every day.

The French word ‘croissant’ tops the list as the most commonly mispronounced food, according to a new study that has been published by Quickgecko.

The second mispronounced is, ‘Worcestershire’, with over 222,000 searches seeking its pronunciation each month. ‘Gyro’ and ‘Pho’ also found themselves only the list, with a high volume of searches from people uncertain of their pronunciation.

So what’s the best way to learn how to pronounce these words? Experts say breaking up words into smaller sounds and focusing on each syllable before attempting to say the complete word is key to getting them right, according to the study.
