DALLAS (KDAF) — Have a sweet tooth and a need for some delicious cookies?

Have you heard of a new cookie store called Super Duper Cookie Company? Located on 6401 Hillcrest Ave in Dallas they have already started making a name for themselves and their groovy cookies.

The unique concept behind Super Duper is that “everyone can be super duper at their level of ability if they just have the opportunity,” as the owner Ben Crosland puts it. The store hires people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are also known as Boogie Guides.

Boogie Guides are there at Super Duper to help and recommend the delicious cookies and help with your purchase! All additional profits are donated to the IDD Employment Foundation to help develop employment programs and opportunities that employ individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Boogie Guides also get to work with an inclusion liaison who helps assist with the job duties of the store.

“We’ve partnered with Hugs Training Academy to help provide opportunities for adults with IDD. I am the job coach, so I help do all our job duties while I’m here at Super Duper,” Inclusion Liasion, Ellie Crosland said.
