    Daingerfield Chamber holds awards banquet

    Tractor Supply: Manager, JR Ingle and his team have had a big impact on the Tri-City area. A few of the ways they have supported the community are donations to the 4H and the FFA and supplied raffle items to several different organizations. They also were responsible for getting the Christmas trees in the Daingerfield City Park this year and they donated a big portion of them to the event. His team has also helped with the Animal shelter and the Daingerfield State Parks fish habitat. Recently they won an award for their part with the National Builders Association.

    Citizen of the Year – Presented by Ryan Norsworthy Tim Gibbs: Tim has worked for the Daingerfield Church of Christ since July 1987. During this time, he was the associate minister for 20 years, in 2007 Norman Miller retired Tim was asked to move into the Pulpit Minister role where he is today. Through out his years as an Associate Minister Tim was a substitute teacher at all DLSISD campuses. He also volunteered as an EMT for the ambulance and as a track coach. You could hear him on Friday nights calling the football games at the High School. Tim was married to Kenia in 1983 and they have to daughters that were born and raised here in Daingerfield. He has officiated or helped in over 130 funerals and 40 wedding in our community.

    Community Service/Pride – Presented by Josh Sanders

    Smauleys Small World: For 6 years now, the daycare has hosted many events free to the community including annual Easter egg hunts, Halloween events (which moved to the City Park this year), Grandparents breakfasts and Thanksgiving lunches. The daycare volunteered staff to watch children during the First Baptist Church’s play “Heavens Gates and Hells Flames”, had a free ornament decorating station at the Christmas in the Park and worked the kids’ section for Daingerfield Days previously. The daycare also makes monetary donations to community events, schools and baseball/softball associations.

    • West Elementary – Patty Peterson – Presented to her by Dori Beasley

    • South Elementary – Adina Russell (Was not present at the banquet)

    • Junior High – Stacey Power – Presented to her by Danny Carey

    • High School – Whitley Villatoro – Presented to her by Bobby Betts • Lifetime Achievement Award – Given by the Chamber – Presented by Jason Horn – Mr. Decker May
