TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man fatally shot himself Tuesday after leading deputies on a chase in Pasco County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a man who had warrants for several violent felonies. The driver didn’t stop and led deputies on a chase.

The man eventually stopped in the area of Prospect Road and SR-52 in the Dade City area, where he fatally shot himself, according to deputies. Road closures are in place in the area.

The man’s name has not been released. Deputies said this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

No deputies fired their weapons, according to the sheriff’s office.
