Ohio tornado victims permitted delays to September in filing tax returns, payments
Individuals and businesses hurt by the tornadoes that struck western and central Ohio on March 14 are getting extra time to file their federal tax returns and make tax payments. Those taxpayers now until Sept. 3 to file their returns and make tax payments, the Internal Revenue Service said Thursday.
Power line projects approved for Fulton, Hancock counties
The Ohio Power Siting Board has approved construction of two electricity transmission lines in Hancock and Fulton counties. One will run about 2.4 miles along Norfolk Southern railroad tracks in Washington Township, southwest of Fostoria, to connect the South Branch Solar generating facility with American Electric Power’s Fostoria Central substation. The other will travel about 9.5 miles through York, Pike, and Fulton townships and include American Transmission Systems, Inc.’s new Melbourne Substation on a 9-acre site near the Worthington Steel complex on County Road 10 as well as the transmission line up to and then along the Ohio Turnpike to connect with an existing transmission line on the west side of Swanton.
