Lucas County GOP calls for investigation into county commissioner
The Lucas County Republican Party is calling for the Ohio Ethics Commission to investigate a complaint against Lucas County Commissioner Anita Lopez for “harassment and bullying” submitted by her executive assistant. “The Lucas County Republican Party believes that it’s time for the Ohio Ethics Commission to become involved as these incidents are just more examples of the corruption and cost of one-party control,” said Tim Brentlinger, chairman of the party’s central committee. Executive assistant Andrew Urrutia filed a complaint in March with Lucas County’s human resources director accusing Ms. Lopez of “inappropriate, unprofessional behavior” toward him. Amy Natyshak, a third-party lawyer, conducted an ensuing investigation of five incidents alleged between March 6 and 11. In a summary report, Ms. Natyshak found Ms. Lopez to have violated the commission’s Harassment-free Work Environment policy and her behavior “constitutes personal harassment within the meaning of the policy.”
