Highway 101 was significantly impacted on the morning of Monday, March 25, 2024, after a fatal two car collision near milepost 342, in Curry County.

The deceased, 75-year-old Warren David Laville of Gold Beach, was rear ended in his Chrysler 300 while stopped for an ODOT flagger heading southbound. Coos Bay resident, 55-year-old Vicky Rosinbaum, could not slow their Toyota Matrix in time.

Laville was declared deceased at the hospital, but his wife, 74-year-old Mary Louise Laville, who was in the passenger seat, was evaluated and treated. Rosinbaum was also transported to the hospital for evaluation.

The Oregon State Police were assisted by the Curry County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon Department of Transportation.

There is still an ongoing investigation into the crash. If anyone has more information about the incident, they are urged to reach out to their local authorities.
