Meth, fentanyl, mushrooms seized during large drug bust in Lee County, deputies say
SANFORD, N.C. (WNCN) – Two people are facing several charges after a massive drug bust in Lee County. On May 9, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at a home at 418 S. Franklin Drive in Sanford. While searching the residence, deputies found methamphetamine, fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms, dextroamphetamine, suboxone and marijuana inside, deputies said.
Harnett County man shot, killed: $25,000 reward offered by Gov. Cooper
The state of North Carolina is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case of a Harnett County man shot dead in his car. Around 1 a.m. on May 7, 2023, deputies with the Harnett County Sheriff's Office responded to a car crash on Sanderfer Road in Bunnlevel.
Nicholson sentenced for involuntary manslaughter
A 37-year-old Sanford woman was sentenced on Monday for involuntary manslaughter in the death of an infant boy. Christian Gabriel-Jacob Bryant died Dec. 25, 2021. Moore County high school student killed in car crash on Youngs Road near Vass, officials say
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (WNCN) — A teenager was killed in a car crash on Tuesday morning in Moore County, according to a trooper with the N.C. State Highway Patrol. Around 8 a.m., a Honda Civic was traveling north on Youngs Road between Southern Pines and Vass. Troopers said the car was speeding on a curve, causing it to run off the road, overturn and hit a tree.
