Tuesday wreck causes traffic delays in Carthage
On Monday, there were quite a few traffic delays in the Carthage area. Tuesday hasn’t been much different for our growing area and busy highways. Shortly after 1 p.m., emergency responders were notified of a single-vehicle wreck on Highway 15/501, just past Jannie Lane. Carthage Fire and Rescue Department arrived to find a Chevrolet truck had left the road and struck a tree.

Charles Benjamin Hearne passed away on April 26, 2024. He was born on July 16, 1996 in Moore County, the son of Daniel Lee and Shannon Reynolds Hearne. Ben was a lineman for Lee Electrical Construction and a volunteer firefighter for Derby Volunteer Fire Department. Ben loved any outdoor activity, such as fishing, hunting, riding four wheelers and loved being with family.
