Jacob James becomes North Alabama's all-time strikeout leader
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (May 16, 2024) – With a second inning strikeout, North Alabama left-handed pitcher Jacob James moves into sole possession of first place on UNA’s all-time strikeout list on Thursday in Clarksville, Tenn., surpassing Chad Boughner at 280. The Lions dropped the series opener 13-2 to Austin Peay.
Clarksville High blows out Collierville in game one of substate baseball series
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Wednesday, the Clarksville High Wildcats welcomed the Collierville Dragons for a best of three, substate series. While it was a defensive battle to begin the game, the Wildcats offense exploded for 11 runs to mercy rule the Dragons in a shutout victory in the first game of the series.

TMSAA Championships: 23 local athletes to vie for state titles
ROGERSVILLE — Twenty-three middle school athletes from Hawkins County will travel to Clarksville this weekend to vie for state titles in their respective events at the TMSAA Track & Field State Championships. The Class A and AA state meets are scheduled to get underway on Saturday, May 18, at Austin Peay State University’s Fortera Stadium. Austin Peay baseball slugging their way to success
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Austin Peay baseball team has been racking up runs and wins during the program’s quick turnaround under Head Coach Roland Fanning. Fanning came to Clarksville from Oklahoma State. He made sure to pack the bats when he accepted the job in May 2022. The team’s offense is a big reason why they have gone from 19 total wins in 2022, to 33 and counting in 2024.
Rossview High boys’ soccer defeats West Creek behind Duncan’s hat trick performance
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Monday, May 13, Rossview High traveled to West Creek High School to take on the Coyotes in a region semifinal matchup. While West Creek’s defense held strong early on, the Hawks offense eventually broke through, which included a hat trick from Graham Duncan. Rossview went on to win the game 8-0, ending West Creek’s season.

CLARKSVILLE, TN – The boys championship game is set! The number one ranked Kirkwood Orange team will face off against the number two ranked Richview Blue team in the Montgomery County Middle School Soccer Championship game. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Monday May 20th at Kirkwood High School. At 6 p.m., the same day and same field, West Creek Maroon will play Rossview Red in a competition for 3rd place.

Former South Alabama safety Keith Gallmon headed to FCS school
Former South Alabama safety Keith Gallmon will play a seventh season of college football on the FCS level at Austin Peay, he announced Thursday. Gallmon, a former Mobile Christian School standout, missed the entire 2022 season and all but two games in 2023 with separate torn pectoral muscles. He sat out this past spring while recovering from surgery.
