Wednesday : Temperatures trend upwards into the mid 80s today. With high pressure in place, we will be warm and dry, and air will be stagnant.

A Code Orange Air Quality Alert has been issued for Wednesday for Jefferson and Shelby Counties due to increased surface ozone.

Thursday: The heat continues on Thursday with more sunshine and high temperatures climbing into the upper 80s. A few spots could make it to 90°.

Friday: The ridge moves east on Friday, and a cold front with an upper-level wave will move into the Southeast U.S. These systems will set off scattered showers and storms. There could also be an MCS (line of storms) moving into Alabama from the northwest, so we will watch for that system. It will be warm and more humid with highs in the lower to middle 80s.

Weekend Outlook : The front will stall across Alabama on Saturday and Sunday. A few upper-level waves will also move across the state. This will help set off hit-or-miss afternoon showers and storms each day. It will stay warm and humid with high temperatures in the middle 80s.
