ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Three juveniles were struck by gunfire in Annapolis’ Bywater neighborhood on Friday, May 3, 2024, around 4:20 p.m. Responding to a report of shots fired at Bywater Road and Copeland St., police and emergency personnel discovered that three juveniles had been shot. The victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries and, as of Saturday morning, are reported to be stable and recovering.

HYATTSVILLE, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating the shooting of a 20-year-old woman found inside her vehicle in Prince George’s County last night. The victim is identified as Nyah Strong Hairston, 20, of Largo, Maryland. Hairston was transported from the scene by Prince George’s County Fire/EMS personnel to the University of Maryland Capital Regional Trauma Center for medical treatment.

Former state Delegate Doyle Niemann dies

Niemann, who served for a dozen years in the House of Delegates and had an even longer record of public service in Prince George’s County, died Wednesday at the age of 77 at the Washington Hospital Center, his family announced on the website everloved.com.
