Football: Blue Devils score six TDs in homecoming win over Clinton
EVANSVILLE — Evansville recorded 259 yards of offense and scored six TDs in a 44-12 rout over Clinton. Senior quarterback Matthew Wickersham completed 10 of 16 passes for 200 yards and five TDs. Senior wide receiver Walker Garetson was a go-to target. Garetson caught four passes for 138 yards and scored a trio of TDs. Seniors Harker Larsen and Langdon Dobbs each caught a TD pass as well. “I thought it was a great team effort,” Evansville coach Garth Coats said. “For it to be homecoming and get almost everyone in the game, that’s a special game. With our senior group, we have a large senior group, so it was nice to get some of those seniors that don’t get a lot of varsity playing time reps on their homecoming.” The No. 10-ranked Blue Devils (7-1, 5-1) took the lead on their opening drive after marching down the field on a 10-play, 68-yard drive that took 3 minutes, 30 seconds. The drive was capped off by Larsen’s 9-yard TD catch. That was six of Evansville’s 37 first-half points. Dobbs caught a 12-yard TD. Garetson caught TD passes of 3, 38 and 48 yards. In the third quarter, Dalton Soltis scored

Volleyball: Milton beats Waunakee, goes 3-2 in Badger Large Conference tournament
OREGON — The Milton Red Hawks went 3-2 in the Badger Large Conference tournament Saturday at Oregon High School. The Red Hawks (26-8, 4-3 Badger Large) went 3-2 on the day. They beat Watertown (25-12, 12-25, 15-13), Beaver Dam (25-14, 25-17) and Waunakee (25-16, 25-22). Milton dropped matches to DeForest (27-25, 25-27, 15-9) and Oregon (25-10, 20-25, 15-6). “We had really great moments today and we had some moments of inconsistency, which ended up costing us in those games we lost,” Milton coach Courtney Walters said. “Our performance against Waunakee was so awesome to see and that’s the team we’ve been striving to perform as all season, consistently.” The Warriors (30-12, 7-0) won the conference and are ranked No. 8 in the latest WVCA Coaches Poll. The Red Hawks lost to the Warriors earlier this year in five sets. Walters said beating Waunakee was a huge confidence boost. “Then we struggled getting our offense going consistently against both DeForest and Oregon. A big injury on our side during DeForest forced us to have to adjust, but I am proud of how the girls fought through it. We know we are still capable of more and the really good moments today

Milton School District sees continued dip in enrollment
MILTON — New enrollment numbers show Milton School District is seeing the number of students nearing graduation flatten, while the headcount for elementary-level students in the district is shrinking. The school district posted its third-Friday enrollment counts Friday. Districts throughout the state are statutorily required to report to the Department of Instruction its enrollment on the third Friday in September annually. Overall, the district’s enrollment was at 3,379 students, down 47 students from 3,426 in the 2025-26 academic year. The district lost 31 students between 2024-25 and last school year. Of that, the high school’s overall enrollment rose slightly to 1,054 from 1,052 in 2025-26. That was less of an increase from 2024-25 when the number enrolled was 1,039. Football: Red Hawks overcome slow start in 48-21 win against Watertown
WATERTOWN — While Milton saw itself down a touchdown on two separate occasions against Watetown, the Red Hawks were still able to battle their way to a win on Friday night. Some of Watertown’s conference games have gotten away from the Goslings pretty quickly this season. Others have been more competitive, at least for a while. Watertown put on an early show in their Homecoming game, but then the Red Hawks started stacking big plays and pulled away for a 48-21 Badger Large victory over the Goslings at Landsverk Field. Watertown (1-7, 0-6 in conference) used a pair of big plays to set up short fields in the first half. Sophomore quarterback Aiyden Parr-Mitchell connected with sophomore running back Kameron Zingler on a wheel route covering 68 yards on the opening drive, which senior receiver Alex David capped off by scoring from 5 yards out on a reverse. Senior kicker Colton Stai’s point after gave Watertown a 7-0 lead with 7 minutes, 17 seconds left in the first quarter. Milton (4-4, 4-2) pulled even on junior quarterback Brice Remington’s 10-yard touchdown pass to senior receiver Caden Pernot with 29 seconds left in the opening quarter. The Goslings answered on their
