BARBERTON: Police were called to a Fifth Street Southeast home April 23 for a report of an argument. A woman at first told police that no one else was home and there was no argument. Officers found a man in the shower who is trespassed from the property. The man was found with a glass meth pipe and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing.
Summit County Athletes of the Week April 22-28 | Alexis Walker, Connor Christie win vote
Athletes from Copley and St. Vincent-St. Mary high schools won the voting for the Summit County High School Athlete of the Week for April 22-28. Alexis Walker of Copley is the girls winner and Connor Christie of STVM wins for the boys. Walker is a softball player and Christie is a baseball player. Walker received 52.78% of the votes cast. Valley City Firefighters' Association donates equipment to township using pancake breakfast funds
LIVERPOOL TWP. — The Valley City Firefighters’ Association donated new equipment to Liverpool Township after raising more than expected from its 2024 pancake breakfasts. This year’s breakfasts took place on two Sundays in March. Association President Kevin Laux said between 1,700 to 2,000 people were served over the two days, and approximately $12,000 was raised through admission, table sponsors and raffles.
