Boys golf: Oregon takes sixth at loaded Badger Large meet
The Oregon boys golf team placed sixth at the stacked Badger Large Conference meet on Tuesday, May 14, at Door Creek Golf Course in Cottage Grove. The Panthers placed sixth with 350 strokes. Milton edged out Waunakee 304-305 to win the conference meet. DeForest finished in third with 312 strokes. The Badger Large has three of the top eight ranked teams in Division 1 by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin state rankings – No. 2 Waunakee, No. 6 DeForest and No. 8 Milton. The Red Hawks had the top two golfers at the meet with freshman Kade Wieland winning medalist honors with a 71. Milton senior Brett Wieland came in second with a 73.

Five student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent on Jan. 16 to continue athletic careers at the collegiate level. The five athletes who signed are Nathan Kirwan, who will play volleyball at Aurora University; Harriet Salas, who will play softball at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville; Bryson Kundinger, who will wrestle at UW-Eau Claire.
