Golf Teams Grab District Gold

The Yorktown Wildcat and Kitty Kat golf teams participated in the District 31 -2A tournament in Corpus Christi at Gabe Lozano Golf Course on April 9.

The following teams entered the Boys Division: Port Aransas, Woodsboro, Skidmore Tynan, and Yorktown. The Wildcat Boys Golf Team took home the 1st Place trophy this past week. The team had a combined score of 350. Yorktown Junior Cameron Willis, who earned second place as an individual as well, led the way for the Wildcats with rounds of 86. Brothers Dalton and Kolton Eckhardt weren’t far behind, with rounds of 87 and 88. Connor Saunders contributed to the team with a score of 89. Brody Metting shot a 92. Colton Rogers participated as an individualist.

The Kitty Kat team equaled the success of the Wildcats, nabbing a first place team finish. Chesney Kaiser and Ashlie Gaida completed the windy round a stroke apart, shooting 108 and 109, respectively. Teammates Braleigh Dodds (113) and Brycen Allman (119) contributed to the team’s 449 total. Sydnie Krueger shot a 129 and Lila Buch (114) participated as an individualist.

The Boys Golf Team will be back in action April 15-16 while the Girls Golf Team will play April 17-18. Both will be playing again at Gabe Lozano Golf Course.
