CORNING, N.Y. ( WETM ) — The Corning Museum of Glass will be showing hundreds of pieces of art made by local students in just a couple of days.

The Annual Student Art Show is allowing more than 2,000 elementary, middle, and high school students from the Corning area to have their art on display in the Corning Museum of Glass’s auditorium. This art show is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting on Wednesday, May 8, and ending on Sunday, May 12. Entry to the Annual Student Art Show is free, and visitors do not need to pay for museum admission to attend the show.

The Corning Museum of Glass has been displaying students’ artwork in a yearly show for more than 50 years, and this year, the museum will be giving away scholarships to a couple of participants. Two students who will be majoring in art in college were chosen by their school based on their artwork and academics, and they will be recognized at the art show opening. The opening reception is scheduled for May 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
