STATE TRACK MEET: ‘Blessed is an understatement’: Cold Springs wins back to back 2A State Championships; Local results from Cullman, Gulf Shores
CULLMAN, Ala. – After a great showing on Friday, the Cold Springs Eagles continued their dominant run at this year’s AHSAA State Track Meet Saturday, pulling away to beat Reeltown by 34 points and claiming their second consecutive 2A State Championship. Eagles runner Ethan Edgeworth racked up four gold medals (1600-Meter, 3200-Meter, 800-Meter, 4×800 Meter Relay) and Eagles jumper Nic Fallin earned two more (Pole Vault, Long Jump) to help lead Cold Springs to the title. The Lady Eagles finished fourth in Class 2A, just four points Hatton. Cold Springs Head Coach Casey Howell was proud of his team for finishing the season strong and defending its title but he’s even more proud of the example they’ve set and the culture they’ve helped establish over their years in the program.

CULLMAN, Ala. – This year’s state track meets are underway in Cullman and Gulf Shores and our local athletes have already collected an impressive number of medals as well as a new state record. Cold Springs standout Ethan Edgeworth has been posting stellar times all season and he put together another dominant performance in the 2A Boys 1600-Meter Friday. Edgeworth earned the gold medal after running a 4:03.96, the state’s fastest time 1600-Meter time ever recorded.
